Unidentified group of WW1 Australian Army Australian Rules footballers. The team was based at the No1 Command Depot at Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, UK. The officer seated is Lieutenant Colonel William Owen ('Old Bill') Mansbridge who was OC of No1 Command Depot. The photographs were both taken by photographer Graystone Bird, whose studio was in Bath, U.K. Sepia toned photograph of a team of 1st AIF Australian Rules foorballers in three rows. Eighteen are in football kit. Two Officers are in the middle of the group. Australian soldiers in uniform at either end of the group. Footballer on left of seated officer is holding a football with, writing on it. Writing “No 1?12, 19 COMMAND DEPOT”. In white lettering on bottom LH corner: - “Graystone Bird, Bath.”
