R. A. Nelson ran a General store in O'Shannassy Street, Sunbury from 1908 until 1918 when the store was burnt down on 14 February 1918. A Robert Nelson with partner Richard Annear also ran a General Store in the same street from 1907 to 1910. Their store sold groceries, drapery, ironmongery, crockery, books, medicines, ammunition and produce. The bottle could have contained any number of fluids either produced or patented by R. A. Nelson.A green half size possibly champagne bottle with a torn blue and white printed label. Label is edged with a blue leaf design border. This book is part of a collection of books, photos and memorabilia donated from the Chatham-Holmes family collection. This was a school book of Edith Pickford who attended the Higher Elementary School at Clunes, Victoria.This green cloth-covered, hard backed book has the title, publisher and an art deco design printed in gold on the spine. A leather look design is impressed into the front and back covers. Opposite the title page is the Editor's Note and both pages have an ornate intertwining flower, thistle and leaf design border around the printing.The book has 596 pages plus some pages of 'List for Reference' from 'The People's Library'.Written in pencil on inside cover - Edith Pickford H.E.S. A very thick vintage black leather bound textured forewoed Library of Health book with the title embossed in the middle of the front cover in gold letters with a cross above the title and a genie lamp below. There is a patterned embossed rectangular border as well. On the spine the title is embossed in gold letters with a tree design in black embossing along the the length of the spine. The end papers are an allover red and cream floral and leaf pattern. The marbled edges of the pages are red, green, and white flecked. Inside there is a Foreward with two quotes about life and death as well as one about the knowledge of prevention of disease, especially in the home. The next page has a statement stating that over a million copies of this book have been sold. The black and white frontispiece is a photograph of the editor B. Frank Scholl, Ph.G., M.D. The title page has the title, editor, and publication details. There is a 'Thanks...'page, a General Arrangement page, A Table of Contents for each of the 20 Books contained in the book, List of Illustrations, diagrams, charts, some coloured as well as many black and white photographs. Pp. 1712 B. The author in 1916 was E.J. Stanley Copyright 1916. There are tables, medicine doses, glossary and an Index at the back. Total Pp. 1774. Inside is a small white with blue lettering Instruction Booklet from the publisher for the use of the book to ensure it is not damaged because of it's size and and some guidance for some of the contents to assist the greatest benefit is received.A rare vintage home medical book, 1926 edition with 20 books in one volume.
