A Gregsteel Plugging cold chisel which is sought after due to excellent edge-holding properties. Used by bricklayers (Gregsteel 279) to remove mortar from between bricks to allow for a timber plug to be inserted to allow skirtings and architraves to be fixed to it. Pair of Australian Army standard issue wire cutters issued to infantrymen during World War 2. Wire cutters were carried to cut through defensive barbed wire barriers encountered in the filed. Refer item 00385 and 00385.2 The manufacturer "GREGSTEEL" and "DɅD" are embossed in both sides of the tool.
