Marong opened as a National School in 1859. It was a brick building with a shingle roof. It was designated a Common School in 1862 and became a State School between 1873 & 1878.Bendigo advertiser '' the way we were'' from 2002. Happy days: Marong State School No. 400; circa 1942.
