On 22 June 1994 the City of Kew ceased as a municiplity and was absorbed into the City of Boroondara as a result of local government restructuring. The City of Kew has a rich history as a commnity based local government and was widely revognised as a leader in the provision of local government services. Giant Community Fair organised by the Ringwood East Chamber of Commerce to be held in the Drill Hall Grounds Dublin Road Ringwood East on Saturday December 2nd 1961. Events include Dog Competition, Marching Girls, Boxing and Judo Display, Police Exhibition, Cake Stalls and a visit from Father Christmas.
