At the time of her marriage she was living at 38 Mangarra Road, Canterbury (later 40 Mangarra Road). Her father was manager of the Melbourne Steamship Company. Prior to her marriage, Dulcie was a typist / secretary at T & G Mutual Life Assurance Society. The couple had 3 children: Ian (B 1945), Peter (B 1946) and Elizabeth (B 1950). After the Hammets sold 11 Durham Road, they moved to 29 Hill Street, Hawthorn. 11 Durham Road was purchased by Jonathon and Anna Wood in 2023.
