Photo depicts a show entry of woolwork which won first prize and show champion at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1933 and the first prize at the Bendigo Agricultural Show in 1933. According to the donor, the entry was undertaken by the Women's Section of the Country Party to promote the use of wool in furnishings. There are two certificates in the photo, on which the word "Tarnagulla" can be seen. The women who made the items may have been from this town. Teulan and are ready for work, Neville Neich won the Adult Braille reading contest at the City of Sydney Eisteddfod and was asked to later broadcast this over the ABC National Network, winners of the other sections were broadcast over the 'Glow Worm' sessions, Nola Dekyvere accepted her fourth Presidency for the Black and White Ball at the Trocadero, an exhibition of handicrafts organised by Goodie Reeve resulted in the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW including a special section for Blind participants in their Handicraft section of the 1954 Royal Easter Show, NSW Cricket and Athletic Club continues to play regular fixtures at suburban and country centres - winning 12, losing 4 and drawing 4, the establishment of the NSW Blind Bowling Club, and the Coronation medal has been awarded to E.T Herford (CEO), W.A. The Country Women’s Association of Victoria was formed 12 March 1928 and today has over 5,600 members. Its original aim was to improve conditions by community service, more especially as they affect the welfare of women and children. The Wodonga CWA branch was formed in 1934 and has been an active group in the community until the present day. The CWA provided gathering opportunities for rural women and quickly became renowned for their street stalls, catering at Agricultural Shows and social events including debutante balls, handicraft classes and cooking demonstrations. Today they have become even more than that, participating in and organising a wide range of activities and initiatives in the community, always with the focus of service to others. The CWA is of significance on a local, state and national level as a critical service group. They conduct a range of social, educational and services throughout Australia with an initial focus on the support of rural women and children.
