"Winnie Wattle" was a radio announcer who conducted shows specifically for children. H R Hughan was originally from Tasmania and started his first news agency in Prahran before opening his establishment in View Point Bendigo. He was advertising as an importer of books, magazines and school requisites in 1923 . Whilst in Bendigo, he was active in the Chamber of Commerce.
