In the fifth year of his apprenticeship, Joe Wlodarczyk was named the 1968 Apprentice of the Year. In 1969, he changed career path, becoming a draftsman for the Gas and Fuel in Melbourne. Joe married another Polish immigrate, Halina, who also migrated to Poland to Australia in the 1950's.
