This is the story of Private Heinrich Johann Guenther von Behr, otherwise known as John von Behr. John was a private in WW2 and in September 1944 was transferred to the Murchison POW camp to work as an interpreter, initially working with the Italian POW's and later with the German POW's. Carla Hreglich interned with her Italian parents and brother Giuliana in Singapore, transported to Camp 3 on the "Queen Mary" 1940. Both children released to attend Catholic schools. Carla & her friend Marissa Georgio attended Brigidine Convent in Echuca.
