Company, 21st Battalion, 6th Brigade, 2nd Division. He was born in Yandoit, and was a 24 year old labourer when her enlised for service at Kingston on 20 April 2015 during World War One. HIs next of kin was his wife Harriett Argent of Kooroocheang, Victoria. He was wounded in Acton at France on 04 July 1914, and had shell shock for the second occation on 03 August 1916. On 22 August 1916 he embarked on the "Denis" for England suffering from Shell Shock. He was transefered permanently to Base in England on 18 June 1917. He was admitted to hospital with VD on 21 August 1917 (63 days), and sailed for Austrlalia on 30 January 1918 with Neurasthenia. The Office was located within the premises of Melbourne Legacy for a peppercorn rent and moved to Sydney during 2015.A record of the past Chairmen of Legacy Co-ordinating Council.Portrait photos of 48 Legatees detailing their names and years of service as Chairman, Legacy Coordinating Councils. For two Past Chairmen portrait photos were unavailable. In a black frame with clear glass. Names and years of service for the 48 Legatees that served as Chairman are detailed under photos of each. Plaque at the bottom centre of the Framed piece reads - "Presented by the Chairman Legacy Australia Inc. to the Melbourne Legacy Club. In appreciation of the generous support of the Legacy Coordinating Councils by providing office space and an executive from its ranks. A Legacy ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance on 22 April 1988. One of the annual "Anzac Commemoration Ceremony for Students" events, held just prior to ANZAC Day. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day. The photos include Legatees lining up to greet the official party, which included President Alf Argent and the Governor of Victoria, Dr J Davis McCaughey, AC. Also the Governor inspecting a group of cadets. The event included a fly past of 4 aircraft and speeches by the president, the Governor and two school children (see 01785). There was a boys choir and girls choir either side of the Shrine steps. Other school children sat on the steps with wreaths to be laid in the inner sanctuary. Two Junior Legatees laid wreaths at the Cenotaph on behalf of Junior Legatees. The school ceremony was broadcast on ABC TV and Radio for many years.
