Christening ensemble first worn in 1858 by William Thomas (Tom) Poulter, eldest living child of James & Mary Poulter. Ensemble comprises a short underskirt, long underskirt, robe, 'shawl' & silk bonnet. The robe is reliably dated to 1858, however, the underskirts, shawl & bonnet may have been added to the ensemble at a later date.
