This is a collection of newspaper cuttings many of which relate to district soldiers who enlisted in World War 1. There are also a number of household recipes and hints from " Women's Sphere" and the "Australian Journal" in the time period of 1906 to 1935. There are also cuttings from the " Australian Dairy Farmer" from 1940. There are also a number of handwritten recipes for baking and medicinal purposes. It was collected by a member of the Bonnett family , who farmed at Mepunga over a number of years. The Historical Society has another exercise book of cuttings from the local paper which printed letters from the front by soldiers from WW1.This is an interesting collection of items which sparked the interest of a farming family in early 20th century.White two ring bantex folder of 37 plastic sleeves containing white A4 pages with newspaper cuttings. A letter from Mrs M Ring to the Caulfield Historical Society, dated 14/03/1986, conveying gratitude for the information provided about the house Crotonhurst located at the corner of Hawthorn Road and Glen Eira Road, Caulfield North, and requesting information about the Langdon and Webb families and the property Lirrewa. Enclosed with the letter is a copy of a two page report on the Life of George Frederick Webb. The file also includes a seven page report conducted by Irene Victoria Anderson in 1982 on the history of the Langdon and Webb families and the house Crotonhurst. Includes collection of correspondence and files between Garry (Gerhard) Seefeld and the Australian Authorities, regarding the Jewish Refugees, Singapore Group and his family's continued internment in Tatura. Included are secret reports as to why Garry and family continued to be interned after all other family members had been released. All the above information was made available from the National Archives, Canberra and forwarded to Loretta Forsey (daughter of Gerhard Seefeld) by Keith Forsey in 2001. The cover and page 105 contain photos of the Mont Albert railway crossing taken by the ABV2 cameraman, technicians and script assistant who were making a TV documentary about the boom gates installed at the crossing. The Mont Albert railway crossing was removed in early 2023 by the Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA). The Surrey Hills railway crossing was removed at the same time. Keith Glover of television Channel 2 is at the right of the photo and plays the father in the documentary. His son is played by David Edwards. A soft cover newsletter largely printed in black and white with jade highlights. Pages are numbered 98-111. Multiple black & white photos.
