Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries. The item belonged to Clarence Stanley FLENTJAR R38429 who enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy. He served on HMAS Cerebus, Tobruk and Melville and a veteran of the Korean War. The Korean War was a war fought between North Korea and South Korea from 25 June 1950 to 27 July 1953. The war began on 25 June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea following clashes along the border and rebellions in South Korea.North Korea was supported by China and the Soviet Union while South Korea was supported by the United Nations, principally the United States. Framed PhotographsThese two photos show Cpl Dennis Nation (Pictured Left in both photos) in Korea. He was a member of 1st Royal Tank Rest (sic) 7 Troop, B SQDN and served with them in the Korean War from 1951- 1954. He was also a veteran of WW2. The photos kindly been donated by his daughter Susan McAtameney

Chaplain John Brownbill served in the Korean War, and was part of the Army Reserve in later years. Gerald Cudmore served as Padre with 1RAR in Vietnam in 1965/66 and was the first Branch Padre of the RAR Association in Victoria. At the time this image was taken Gerald Cudmore was the Vicar General of Melbourne.
