There is also a "Dunera" Internees plaque, erected for the 50th Anniversary by the Hay Shire Council.- to mark the arrival from England of 1.984 refugees on the "Dunera" Many joined the AMF on their release from internment and made Australia their homeland.There is also a plaque to commemorate the existence of a POW camp at Hay. The plaque is on a fountain at the Hay racecourseTatura and District Historical society trip to Peppin Heritage centre May 1st 1993.
