This postcard was produced to promote the LOLA (Linton on Literary Arts) event held in 2018. Won by Linton Fire Brigade in 1885. (3rd prize NFBAD Ballarat). Found on Linton tip by James Wishart in the 1960s. Inscription on the back of the photograph indicates that the photograph was taken in 1948 at a demonstration day in Ballarat. William Murrell ran a newspaper shop on the west side of Sussex Street until 1932, when he moved his business to a site formerly occupied by Dan Cornish (who ran it as a shoe shop).
