These Miner's Rights may refer to the Ballarat Observatory in Magpie Street (to be confirmed), and were possibly handed over when James Oddie gifted the Observatory to the Ballarat School of Mines. James Oddie was a prominent early settler of Ballarat. It is is thought this is the Miners' RIght for the Ballarat Observatory, Seven paper Miner's Rights issued by the State of Victoria. All are issued to James Oddie of Ballarat and relate to Registration Number 19578 Magpie Street Ballarat East. The original date of registration was 09 October 1890.
