Typewritten notation behind the frame - "Greenwood oral family history says that this unsigned painting was done by Charles Wheeler as a demonstration for Rose Greenwood, (A.V. Greenwood's sister). They shared a studio at the Wattle Club Hall at Box Hill circa 1890s. The subject matter was said to be Grandfather Carr's orchard in Wantirna Road (Ringwood - Still standing in 2003).
