In his book, Bob Nichol has recalled his employment as a bank officer from 1929 to 1971. He worked for the Bank of Australasia which later became the ANZ Bank. Connie Johnson (1892-1982) trained as a pianist, married Alec Purvis Smith and a daughter Bunty. After the Depression they lived at Kangaroo Ground and had many artist friends.
