Robert Joseph TULIP enlisted in the RAAF No 148496 on 12.4.1944 age 28 years. At wars end he re engaged in the Interim Airforce in 1946. He embarked for Japan as part of BCOF on 19.4.1947.He was discharged on 23.3.1949 holding the rank of Flight Rigger Leading Aircraftsman. (LAC). BCOF, British Commonwealth Occupation Force Japan.
