Hector Dunn was a continuing Presbyterian minister from Queensland & NSW. Ordained 1945. Served Grenfell NSW, Hobart, Warrnambool, 1977 was the first moderator of the continuing Presbyterian church. Mrs. Ethel Mitchell was the Moderator of the Synod of Victoria at the time. Rev. Alistair Macrae, born 1950. Macrae was ordained in 1984 and served in rural, regional and inner city congregations in Victoria, at Mt Beauty, Portland and West Brunswick. He served as Moderator of the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania (2000–2003) and as Executive Director of the Uniting Church Centre for Theology and Ministry (2004–2009) in that synod. He was a member of the board of Wesley Mission Melbourne and chaired its social policy committee. Macrae was an inaugural member of the Victorian State Government's Community Support Fund and served on the advisory committee of the Community Alcohol Action network of the Australian Drug Foundation. Macrae became President of the UCA in July 2009, at the 12th Assembly. In September 2013 Macrae commenced as Minister of Wesley Uniting Church, Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. This coat was part of the Presbyterian moderator's regalia which also consisted of a tri-corn hat, black bib, lace jabot, britches, silk stockings, gaiters and buckled shoes.Black wool, lined cutaway coat with a crew neck. The coat has seven pairs of black buttons and is secured edge to edge with a single hook and eye at the 4th and 5th buttons. It has lace cuffs, braiding and pleats at the back. The black lining is quilted at the top and there is a pocket on the inside right breast. The sleeves of the coat are lined with white fabric and the lace cuffs are secured with six pearl buttons. The jabot was part of the Presbyterian Moderator's regalia and was worn under the coat which had lace cuffs. The regalia also included britches, stockings, wool gaiters and shoes with metal buckles. The gaiters, buttoned up the side, cover the leg from the ankle to a point just below the knee. This was appropriate in the time when clergy's travelling would be on horseback but continued into the middle of the 20th century.Pair of black wool with tape binding and 11 fabric covered buttons. Rev Allan McVean was instrumental in building a Church in Geelong shortly after he arrived in Australia in 1852. In 1854 he moved to Brunswick and Coburg where he worked for 40 years. He was Moderator of the General Assembly in 1880-1. He was also Convenor of the Board of Examination. He died in 1896. Alan Anderson Brash was born 5 June 1913 and died 24 August 2002, aged 89. In 1928 the Rev T W Leggatt was the first settled minister of the Glen Iris Presbyterian church with an annual stipend of 300 pounds a year. This new church built on 6 Clarkmount Road Sassafras was opened on 30th January, 1937 by Moderator Right-Rev. A Irving Davidson, M.A. It replaced the Log Cabin Presbyterian Church which erected in 1925 as a memorial to G H Derry, the first Chairman of the Recreation Reserve.
