The floor covering in the living/dining room was originally seagrass matting as seen in the Strizic photographs of 1959 and 1963. This was replaced after the Boyd's saw a large cream rug floor covering at the Shelmerdine's house and liked it. It was purchased from Myer. In 2007, that rug was found to be moth-eaten and treated and put into storage. The buildings at Kooyong have undergone various re-modelling and redesign over the years. These plaques commemorate the dual activities taking place at the Kooyong Centre, as it strove to adapt to the increasing need for technological support and the changes in information, day centre and supports needed by the blind and vision impaired community. In 1992, Coles/Myer made a donation to the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's Project Arthritis Action Appeal. The funds were raised at the Coles Myer Sponsors Race Day. This photo depicts Mr Richard Thomas, Director of Corporate Affairs at Coles/Myer, handing the donation cheque to Dr Leslie Koadlow.
