Nancy Malseed was born in Victoria in 1913. She was a printmaker and artist.Three separate images of birds. Top image is six large abstract birds with 12 birds in background (upper centre). Centre panel contains 3 birds in flight, brown against a grey background. Lower panel contains 3 walking birds, black and white against a brown background. Abstract depiction of a bird in trees. Trees are picked out in strong vertical strokes of white, grey, black and russet. Background and foliage is depicted in swirling blues and greens; the sky is grey at top of image. At top centre is a bird in blue and white. The paper is very think - almost like tissue paper and there are parts of the image that have cutouts (tearouts) as part of the depiction. Acquired by Portland Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts (CEMA) as a winner of its annual Art Price in 1964; later presented by CEMA to Portland Town Council.View of the interior of a cave. In foreground is a triangular pool of dark blue water with lighter highlights. The walls of the cave curve up both sides of the water, meeting at the back of the cave. At back of cave is a ledge with 7 seals on it. One seal is diving into the water.
