In 1984, Orbost Shire Council proceeded to do a refurbishing of the main street and this photo is likely from that time. This photo shows one of the steps in the progression of Orbost. These photographs were taken in the main street of Orbost looking south along Nicholson Street. Nicholson Street was remade in 1984 with new kerb alignments, the introduction of red brick paving and the planting of oak trees.
