John (Peter) Heinrich Erdman arrived in Port Phillip aboard the Wilhelmsberg on 24 August 1853 aged 26. He was naturalised on 25 November 1859. His naturalisation certificate has the wrong ship entered. Peter married Johanna Karoline Wanke in the Lutheran Church in 1857. Karoline was the daughter of Johann Gottlieb and Helene (Mueller) Wanke.
