Regarding trotting history at Port Melbourne Speedway. Includes an extract from "Trove" of the "Record " Emerald Hill covering the opening of the speedway on 24th August 1918. MLA J L MURPHY (president of the club) opened the track in the presence of Port Melbourne Mayor J P CRICHTON and other dignitaries.
