This image is said to be of the wedding of Margaret (Maggie) Isabel Dickie and Mr William Ernest Prosser taken outside the Baptist Chapel in Lerderderg Street Bacchus Marsh in March 1898. Maggie Dickie was the eldest daughter of a prominent Bacchus Marsh family. Her father George Dickie was a store owner and Shire of Bacchus Marsh Councillor. The groom, William Prosser was an employee of the Bacchus Marsh Post Office. The marriage ceremony was reported in detail in the Bacchus Marsh Express newspaper of the 26 March 1898 where reference is made to two photographers who were waiting outside the church to take pictures. The church building in this photo ceased to be a church late in 1898 when a new Baptist Church opened in Main Street Bacchus Marsh.
