The groom, William Prosser was an employee of the Bacchus Marsh Post Office. The marriage ceremony was reported in detail in the Bacchus Marsh Express newspaper of the 26 March 1898 where reference is made to two photographers who were waiting outside the church to take pictures. The church building in this photo ceased to be a church late in 1898 when a new Baptist Church opened in Main Street Bacchus Marsh. This makes this one of the last images of this church when it was still in use as a Baptist place of worship.One digital file acquired from State Library of Victoria.
