A copy of an urgent telegram from Australian Post Office addressed to Mr. T. Lloyd, Portland. The wording on the telegram reads "WOUNDED IN ACTION AND ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL BUT NOT SERIOUSLY ILL STOP IT IS LEARNED WITH REGRET THAT YOUR SON 3797402 PRIVATE THOMAS ROGER LLOYD SUSTAINED A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND A FRACTURED UPPER RIGHT ARM ON 20TH APRIL 1791 IN PHUOC TUY PROVINCE VIETNAM AND WAS ADMITTED TO 1 AUSTRALIAN FIELD HOSPUTAL VUNG TAU VIETNAM STOP AS LONG AS HIS CONDITION WHICH IS SATISFACTORY REMAINS UNCHANGED NO PROGRESS REPORTS WILL BE FORWARDED TO YOU ...
