Comments from Mr. David Pascoe (miner and Mines Inspector) and Mr. Harry Clarke (former miner, Mines Inspector and mine manager) state that 'synclinal folds and inverted saddle reefs had been almost entirely neglected by Bendigo miners'. Mine ventilation and rock temperatures in the New Argus (Eaglehawk) and the New Chum Railway at Golden Square were researched by David Pascoe.
