The first tuning fork was invented by John Shore in 1711 to tune musical instruments. It was soon modified for use in the fields of science and medicine. John & William Ragg began manufacturing in 1833 in Sheffield, England. The family began by manufacturing razors, scissors and knives, adding tuning forks to their portfolio in 1841. In 1933 Ragg decided to focus solely on the production of tuning forks, becoming Ragg Tuning Forks Ltd. Tuning forks were made to different frequencies. These forks are both tuned to G or 384hz.
