Rawson and Mrs Rawson were also in the official party. The President of the Advisory Council (Mr J.B. Harper) paid a tribute to the school's Headmaster, Mr J. R. Bennett. He said that this is the last Speech Night at which Mr Bennett would be the head of the school, as he would be retiring during 1958. -
