These photographs, taken by The Advocate in 1999, feature a gathering of members of the Rebels Motorcycle Club in Sunshine West. The Rebels Motorcycle Club is one of Australia's best-known motorcycle clubs and has maintained a presence in Melbourne's western suburbs for many years. The images provide a record of the local motorcycle community and its social activities during the late 1990s. In Victoria, recent laws have targeted the public display of outlaw motorcycle gang colours and insignia. The Rebels are among the clubs that may be covered by these regulations, meaning members can face penalties for publicly displaying club patches or colours, but this does not amount to the club itself being outlawed or prohibited from existing.7676.01 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.02 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.03 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.04 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.05 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.06 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.07 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.08 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPG 7676.09 - The Rebels Motorcycle Club And Hot Rod Show Sunshine West 1999 Photographs (Advocate 65).JPGsunshine west, rebels motorcycle club
