... Rev John Waterhouse 1789 - 1842...Rev John Waterhouse. John Waterhouse was born in May 1789 in Rawdon, Yorks, UK. He was accredited as a Wesleyan preacher in July 1813 and married Jane Beadnell Skipsey in August 1913. In 1838 they sailed to Van Diemen's Land with their nine unmarried children. He was appointed to the Hobart Circuit; Chairman of Van Diemen's Land District; General Superintendent of Wesleyan Missions in Australasia and Polynesia. He died in Hobart, Tasmania in March 1942. Rev Waterhouse's last words, as recorded by his daughter Mary Ann were "Missionaries, missionaries, missionaries". Rev John Waterhouse 1789 - 1842 ...
