However, by this point the SNA had been in a slow decline for at least a decade, with teams gradually moving to the Mountain District Netball Association. This Perpetual Shield Trophy - a wooden trophy in the shape of a shield with metal mini-shields designed to have each year's winner engraved on them - only saw four winners engraved on it, with the other 15 slots left empty. The most recent winner was Emerald in 2013; given this was several years before the competition fully ended, it is possible that by 2014 there were alreeady not enough teams and players to continue running the open mixed championship. This shield recalls a long-standing, now-defunct local netball competition, including two consecutive victories by the Emerald team. This item is a wooden shield-shaped trophy. Affixed to it in a rectangular grid (four rows and five columns) are brass mini-shields, in the same shape as the wooden shield. The middle space of the second row of shields is replaced with a badge, showing the logo of the Sherbrooke Netball Association. The first four mini-shields are engraved with years (2010-13) and team names; the other 15 are left blank. At the top, the name of the league is displayed in black on a brass background, atop a title ribbon design.Top: "SHERBROOKE NETBALL ASSOCIATION / ** OPEN MIXED ** / PREMIERS" Centre: "SHERBROOKE / Netball Association" First Shield: "2010 / BEACONSFIELD" Second Shield: "2011 / SILVAN / (BLACK)" Third Shield: "2012 / EMERALD" Fourth Shield: "2013 / EMERALD"sports, 2010s, sherbrooke netball association -

This plaque was used to record the premiers of the 17B competition from 1982 until 2003; however, it was not used continuously. There are consistent winners marked from 1982 until 1995, with only a one-year gap in 1984. However, the plaque was then not used for 7 years, before the 2003 Emerald victory was recorded. The shield was not used again after 2003 leaving six engraving slots blank. It was manufactured by defunct trophy company Trophy Town, likely through their Kilsyth location. This shield recalls a long-standing, now-defunct local netball competition, including several victories by the Emerald team. This item is a rectangular wooden trophy. Affixed to it in a rectangular grid (eight rows and three columns) are rectangular brass plates, engraved with the year and name of premiership winners. The middle space in the first four columns of plates is replaced with a brass relief of a netball falling into a netball hoop. A larger brass plate at the top of the trophy shows the name of the competition. On the reverse there is a slot allowing the plaque to be mounted on a wall, and a green sticker with yellow writing. Several of the engraved names use different fonts to their predecessors or successors, indicating that the engraver or engraving style may not have been fixed.Top: "Sherbrooke Netball Association / 17B / PREMIERS" 1st Engraving: "SOUTH BELGRAVE / GREEN / 1982" 2nd Engraving: "EMERALD / BLACK / 1983" 3rd Engraving: "MACCLESFIELD / 1985" 4th Engraving: "MONBULK / 1986" 5th Engraving: "SASSY-FERNY CREEK / 1987" 6th Engraving: "EMERALD / BLACK / 1988" 7th Engraving: "MONBULK / GOLD / 1989" 8th Engraving: "EMERALD BLACK / 1990" 9th Engraving: "MONBULK GOLD / 1991" 10th Engraving: "EMERALD / 1992" 11th Engraving: "MENZIES CREEK / 1993" 12th Engraving: "MENZIES CREEK / 1994" 13th Engraving: "MACCLESFIELD / 1995" 14th Engraving: "EMERALD / 2003" Rear, Sticker: "TROPHY TOWN / KILSYTH 720 6399 / DANDENONG 792 9048 / SURREY HILLS 836 3437"sports, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, sherbrooke netball association -
