On Saturday the 28th of May 2005, the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria (AFV), incorporating Osteoporosis Victoria (OV), held a Fibromyalgia Seminar and Expo at the Melbourne Town Hall. The event was attended by more than 350 people. Presenters included rheumatologist, Dr Daniel Lewis, and Dr Craig Hassed from Monash University, who specialises in mind-body and integrative medicine. This photo depicts Dr Hassad making his presentation on the reciprocal relationship between the mind and body, and how that impacts on dealing with conditions such as Fibromyalgia Syndrome. A slightly cropped, black and white version of this photo appears on page 15 of the Vol 18 Issue 3, Spring 2005 edition of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Update. It accompanies an article titled, "FMS Seminar and EXPO". The photo is captioned: "Fibromyalgia Seminar May 28 2005 - Dr Craig Hassed". Also available on the day were 30 minute break-out sessions covering topics such as Feldenkrais, Food for Life (nutrition), Pain Management, Psychosocial Aspects, Relaxation, and Yoga.COL photo of a man speaking into a microphone at a lectern on a stage. On either side of him are two vertical free-standing banners (partially obscured). One of the banners contains the text "Osteoporosis Awareness" (partially obscured). On the stage, there is a large screen on a black floor to ceiling curtain, behind which there are some tall organ pipes. A slide of a Micheal Leunig cartoon is being projected onto the screen. In the cartoon, some text on a simple depiction of a large machine says, "XEROX THOUGHT SHREDDER".[On a white label, printed in black ink] Fibromyalgia Seminar May 28 2005 Dr Craig Hassed [Handwritten in red ink on the same label] P15arthritis foundation of victoria, afv, osteoporosis victoria, ov, fibromyalgia syndrome, fms, seminar, expo, information, education, pain management, feldenkrais, food for life, nutrition, healthy food, healthy diet, psychosocial, relaxation, yoga, dr craig hassed, melbourne town hall, update, 2005 -
