A Congregational Church was opened in Liebig Street in Warrnambool in 1864 and transferred to Henna Street in 1940. In 1979 this Henna Street church was sold to the Salvation Army when the Congregational Church merged with the Methodist Church to form the Uniting Church. The game of bowls has been popular in Warrnambool since its establishment in the town in the 1890s. This cup is of interest as it is a trophy from sporting competitions held in Warrnambool in the 1930s.
