Photo taken at Carrs Plains in 1874 of Indigenous or First Nation People outside a wood and bark hut. In 1861, William Dennis of Carrs Plains Station, a staunch Methodist became Honorary, Aboriginal Protector for the area. One of his main tasks to give Government supplied food and clothing to the Aboriginals. Many district, remaining First Nations People became based at Carrs Plains, and their dead were buried in a cemetery on the station. The cemetery is show on survey map of Wirchilleva Borough, in corner of camping & water reserve near surveyed Bismarck township.
