The women in the photograph were members and players of the 1970s Women's soccer team. The Sunbury United Soccer Club was formed in 1973 band they played their first games at the sports ground which was in Evans Street, now the site of Sunbury Shopping Square. The soccer club eventually acquired land for a permanent ground at Langham Park in Mitchells Lane.
