This item would have been used as a salt container and would have been part of a dinner set. This would have been used for special occasions . It is in good condition and is a good example of this type salt storage jar. As this has a brown willow pattern instead of the usual blue it makes this make this salt despenser rare item.This has social and historical significance as it shows what items families used for special dinner occasions. Coaster showing 'Pannam's Store 1900' is historically incorrect as Pannam did not come to Vermont until c1934. It appears that it was known as 'Vermont Store' in 1900.Boxed set of six square coasters with rounded edges.
