Derek Viner was involved in the development of the VIOSH program and the first course in 1979 was under his leadership. He completed a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering in the 1960s and then a Master of Science Air Transport Engineering in the 1970s. Dennis Else came to join the staff at Ballarat College of Advanced Education in 1984. He came here from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England.
