Between 2021 – 2024 Malcolm Qualtrough colourised a selection of black and white historical photographs of Bendigo and surrounding towns. The original photographs were sourced from a range of collections that are acknowledged for each photograph. The photos were painted using CODIJY software. Photo restoration was done using Pixelmator Pro, and enhancement with Topaz AI. The colours are interpretive and are based on Malcolm’s boyhood memories of growing up and living in Bendigo.Looking from the Post Office tower up along Pall Mall, the Quartz Hill and Mines along Thistle Street in the top right.
