The house belongs to Mrs Cameron whose daughter married a DAVEY after which Davey Street is named. Excavation work is being undertaken for the realignment of the Para Road and Sherbourne Road intersection where the current roundabout is located, approximately where the two cars are parked. Mrs Cameron's house and the other are where Montmorency Secondary College is situated. Shows a VW Beetle (GVM-459) heading east up the hill on Bridge Street continuance which at the time was slightly mis-aligned. Also street direction signs to Greensborough, Montmorency and St Helena.In February 1968 an unknown person took a series of photos from the Eltham Hotel at Pitt Street heading north along Main Road through the shopping centre to just north of Elsa Court covering the length of the section of Main Road which was duplicated shortly thereafter. View from Grace Mitchell's shop at the corner of Mount Pleasant Road and Main Road. Grace Mitchell was probably best known for her Eltham shop at the corner of Mt Pleasant Road and Main Road. Grace's memories covered many local identities who were patrons of her shop between 1954 and 1971. From the elevated position of her shop and home Grace was able to view a varied passing parade of Eltham events from ERSILAC, Easter and Eltham Festival parades passing on their way to Eltham Lower Park, circuses in Wingrove Park (then Bremner’s Reserve), roadworks and other happenings. Bremner's Reserve was renamed Wingrove Park c.1970 This photo was from a series of images presented by Grace Mitchell at a Society talk 10 March 1993 on the theme of “My Eltham”. Alistair Knox had one of the first VW Beetles in Eltham; perhaps the one shown is his. This model has a large rear window, first introduced in 1958. The Holden ute could be an FC or FE. B&W photo of Ronald McDonald at Hermon's business in Dandenong on the occasion of the opening of McDonalds in Dandenong. Photo shows a group of people outside Hermon's Refuelling Station (a brick building with a shop and a workshop). A woman stands, holding the hands of two children, aged about seven. A person dressed as Ronald McDonald sits on the back of a sports car. Bill Hermon and a mechanic stand further along. There is a driver in the car. According to Lyn McGillivray, daughter of Bill and Jean, "It was hilarious! Mum & Dad were asked if Ronald McDonald could get changed in our premises. They were in awe that this 'big-wig' would want/need to dress there for the short journey up the street to the new restaurant. I think it was us kids (young adults then) who set them straight!"
