William Morley Johnson established a stock and general auctioneers business in Kyneton in 1886 before opening a furniture store in Bendigo in 1897. The initial business operated from Pall Mall opposite the Post Office and then moved to 23 Mitchell Street in 1898. In 1906 the business moved to Sydney. It became a public company in 1952 and ceased business in 1964.Buff coloured Morley Johnsons (Bendigo Limited) Rent Book in the name of Mr Babidge of Yarraberb P.O. Via Derby. Book has a handwritten list of furniture, etc to the value of £81/4/0 and is dated July 22-1927. Book has dark blue and red printing inside. Morley & Johnsons handwritten on the front cover. A blue receipt No. 2361 July 22 1927 for £10 is attached to one of the pages. Brownish duty stamp attached to receipt.
