The Warley Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1952 and held many fundraising events eg. fetes, stalls. duck races and special Woolamai race days, to raise money for medical equipment and facilities. It appears to have ended in 2002. The last baby born at the hospital was Cassie Smith in 1996. This is a collection of 12 coloured photographs of the Warley Hospital and Nursing home donated by Meg Davis. In 1923 the Warley Hospital was established in a house purchased by Mr Thompson. The new hospital was built in 1962 and the Nursing Home Annex was added in the mid 1970's. From 1923 until 2008, Warley Bush Nursing Hospital served the Island. In 1923 benefactors, Mr and Mrs W E Thompson, purchased the home of the late Robert Walpol, and presented it to the people of the island for use as a hospital. Warley was in fact the state's first Bush Nursing Hospital. The original hospital was built in 1924 and the new building opened in 1962. It was closed after not being able to receive funding from State and Federal Governments. It's doors closed on January 31st 2008. A section of the hospital was run as a Nursing Home which opened in 1980. That too is closed.
