Since its construction in the 19th century, the building has had numerous additions made by subsequent owners. The original render has been painted and sections of the original colonnades glazed in. Now Xavier Junior School, the Victorian Heritage Register describes the building as: "...a largely intact mansion commenced in the mid-Victorian period that was sympathetically added to during the nineteenth century and as such, is one of the key Victorian buildings to have been built in Kew. the historical associations with figures such as Charles C.
