Now the Eltham Teahouse Restaurant, Yings was owned and operated by Phyllis and John Chan. Their daughter, Karmein Chan was abducted from their home in Templestowe on 13 April 1991 whilst her parents were at work and subsequently murdered. The murder remains unsolved.
