The Kew RSL received its fist Charter 1st January 1920; it later joined with the Hawthorn RSL. In November 1931 CR C.R. Parry organised the reformation of the Kew Sub Branch and its first president was Brig-Gen Pat Mc Glin, a veteran of the Boer & first World War.

The glass panel was originally installed in the internal entrance door to the Kew RSL Sub Branch Social Club probably in the 1960s renovation; removed & stored during the recent renovations (2017-18) The central insignia is of an early form in that it depicts the soldier, sailor & airman only.
