Decorative object - Black Buggy Model, Mr Chas W. Davis, Unknown
The collection of thirteen horse drawn vehicles were carefully handmade by Mr Chas W Davis 1925 - 2002. He was a talented artist and saw doctor. This model of a one horse drawn buggy replicates the vehicle that enjoyed respect from the public from 1833 until 1935. It came in four types.A model of a black enclosed buggy and horse, with two doors and two tinted windows. It is a two wheeled two passenger horse drawn carriage where the driver sits behind on the high seat with silver armrests. The body is low to the ground, making it easy for passengers to board and disembark as well as allowing for speed and is lightweight for one horse to pull, making the journey cheaper than using four horses. It has two black spoked wheels with silver rims, brown seating, silver handles on the doors and two black coach lamps at the back. There is a silver step on the side of the body near the footrest to aid alighting and disembarking. There are two long shafts on each side to surround the horse. It has a model of a brown coloured horse with a white tail and mane, which has the necessary horse tack for carriage use to help the driver communicate with the horse. replicas, models, scale models, vehicles, carriages, horse drawn vehicles, toy horses -

Work on paper - Newsletter, Holy Redeemer - St Joseph's Weekly Notice Sheet, c 14 December 1967
In 1901, Fr George Robinson, Parish Priest of Camberwell purchased the present site of Our Holy Redeemer Church, Surrey Hills, which at the time came within the Camberwell Parish. The owner of the land was reluctant to sell to the Catholic Church, but Miss Amy Castles, a noted singer and friend of Fr Robinson, purchased the land in her own name and then transferred it to the church. On 11 May 1902, the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer (the original title of the church) was blessed and opened by Archbishop Thomas Carr, Archbishop of Melbourne. The architect was A. A. Fritsch. The cost was £3,500. In 1904, Fr. Robinson constructed a weatherboard school-hall (later replaced by a brick hall). Archbishop Mannix opened and blessed the new brick school on 10 November 1918. Fr Tim Fitzpatrick was the third parish priest and served from 1941-1972. A slightly yellowed foolscap sheet printed on both sides detailing the activities of the Surrey Hills parish around Easter in April 1972.st joseph's convent, holy redeemer, catholic church, fr tim fitzpatrick, fr n mackay, b mcdonald, j moloney, k lourey, r kennedy, francis baker, mary gertrude mier, veronica fitton, dorothy erwin, terry young, carmel young, junior youth club, joan murphy, mr hurley, mrs kit o'neil, pat galletti, mothers' club, ed curmi, peter burns, angela lamaro, mary owen, helen buckley, p heffernan, n griffith, g mooney, a dignam, e rankin, d mooney, sister margarida -

Work on paper - Newspaper cutting, Unknown journalist, the Express newspaper, Wonthaggi, "Tourist Curiosity is killing penguins", 30.01.1964
Due to increased numbers of tourists in the post-World War Two era, and the increased popularity of the Penguin Parade, without sufficient public education or protection of the penguin habitat, many Little Penguins perished during the 1960s. Trampling, unsupervised interference with the birds, unrestricted access to their dune habitat, plus predation by foxes, cats and dogs, led to most of the rookeries outside of the Summerland patrolled areas - such as on the west and north Phillip Island coasts, and parts of the south coast - being obliterated by the mid 1970s.this article is highly significant as it was published shortly before the establishment of the Phillip Island Conservation Society Inc in 1968, which commenced agitation to make management of Crown Land by Phillip Island Shire Council and government bodies accountable for protection of wildlife habitat on Phillip Island.photocopy of newspaper cutting. Work on paper, Geoffrey Riccardo, Geoffrey Ricardo's Ex Libris Bookplate, 2015
GEOFFREY RICARDO (1964- ) Born Melbourne, AustraliaAn ex libris bookplate featuring a kangaroo holding books in her pouch. This etching won the 5th Biennial Australian Bookplate Award in 2015. Judge Sasha Grishin said of the winning bookplate "Geoffrey Ricardo's bookplate marries the tradition of exquisite intaglio Ex Libris prints with a comic Australian subject matter that is distinctive, original and very memorable," Grishin says. Bookplates are commonly designed by artists for book lovers to identify their ownership, and usually use personal iconography to represent the bookworm's life and interests. Ricardo's aquatint etching is different in that he made it for himself. Art critic and Australian National University professor Sasha Grishin was one of the judges of the $7500 prize. "Geoffrey Ricardo's bookplate marries the tradition of exquisite intaglio Ex Libris prints with a comic Australian subject matter that is distinctive, original and very memorable," Grishin says.
