The 1958 edition of 'Quadrangle' was the first published as the new magazine of the Ballarat Junior Technical School. Formerly the Ballarat Junior Technical School occupied a few pages at the back of the Ballarat School of Mines Students' Magazine. In this year the Ballarat Junior Technical School's 'brother' school, Ballarat North Technical School, was publishing its own magazine called 'Green Acres'. Articles includeGrey/Blue soft covered magazine of 54 pages. Contents include: Past staff/students (Mr Whitla, Mr Hewitt, Mr Cowan, Mr Reeve, Mr Wilcock, Bullarto Camp Report, Bright Camp, Windmill Ruin (B. An explanation of the Ballarat School of Mines Coat of Arms is given, and the first Ballara Junior Technical School Principal, Albert W. Steane recalls the early days of the school. The newsletter from August 1956. It featured Lord Mayor of Melbourne Sir Frank Selleck on the cover. The president's introduction talked about Frank Selleck suggesting the name Legacy. There was an article about the Victoria Cross and one about the new Legacy house in Swanston Street. Also a careers page focusing on nursing as a profession. Pages showed news from the different Boys and Girls Classes. Also photos of the Legacy staff, including Miss Dorrie Vines -Matron of Stanhope, Mrs B Cobby -Legacy's Welfare Officer, Mrs V Duncan -office supervisor and Mr Jim Tierney -boys instructor. A small photo shows the wedding of Lynn Rennie a former junior legatee, with her Legatee Ralph Small. And mentions Lyn's twin sister Jean is speech training instructor on Tuesday nights. A newsletter published by Legacy in this format for many years from 1942. It mentions "Issued from time to time for Private Circulation among the Sons and Daughters of Deceased Service men and Merchant Seamen who served their Country during the War of 1914-18, or the present War". Many articles on the work of Legacy, including features on boys classes, girls classes, camps, the residences and where their past residents ended up. There are some suggestion for careers and some general interest articles. Display panel giving details re: the construction of the Dennys Lascelles concrete building (the Bow Truss building) adjacent to the Dennys Lascelles wool offices and store (now NWM) in 1911-13. The building was designed as a show floor for wool bales, thus the lack of columns and roof supports was significant in providing free space. It was designed by Mr E.G. Stone and construction was supervised by Laird and Buchan. It was demolished in the 1990s. Sign, painted onto a MMTB auxiliary destination board of the type that could hang on the front of a Melbourne tram car with the words "Minimum Fare 8d", white letters on black paint. The reverse side has had a number of paper signs glue to it. Not readable. Metal sign, fitted with metal hanging brackets, riveted to sign on both sides.
