Heyday: the surface view of the test shaft, plant and poppet legs of the government shaft at Fosterville (October 1900-April 1903). A pumping plant and winch were purchased from the Tyson's Reef Mine for 900 pounds and removal and assembly cost 723 pounds. Arrangements were also made with the North Stewart Company for the loan of poppet legs, the steam winch engine and buildings.
